Dialzara review: a low-cost AI receptionist from $29 a month
Dialzara answers calls in 10 languages from $29 a month, billed by the second. What 200 calls a month costs, which plan you need for booking, and who it suits.
Dialzara is a self-serve AI receptionist for small businesses. You sign up online, give it your website so it can draft a script for your business, pick a voice and a number, and forward your existing line to it. From then on it answers 24/7, takes messages, books appointments, blocks spam and transfers callers to your team, and sends you a recording, transcript and summary of every call (Dialzara).
It’s one of the cheapest ways to start, at $29 a month, and one of the clearest price lists in the category: every plan and every overage rate is on the pricing page.

Who it’s for
Dialzara suits solo operators and small teams who want to set up an AI receptionist themselves and pay for what they use. It’s a good match for businesses whose callers speak different languages: it answers in 10, including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Hindi and Japanese, on every plan, and switches language mid-call (FAQs).
It fits less well if you need it to book into industry software. It syncs with Google Calendar and Outlook; anything else, including your CRM, connects through Zapier, Make or webhooks.
What callers hear
Callers get one of Dialzara’s AI voices, answering in your business’s name. It answers questions from what it knows about your business, takes messages using the questions you set, and on the Pro plan and up books, moves and cancels appointments and confirms them by text or email (features).
How transfers work depends on the plan. The $29 Lite plan only does blind transfers: the caller is put through with no introduction. Warm transfers, where your team hears who’s calling first, start on the $99 Pro plan.
What it costs at real call volumes
Dialzara bills by live talk time, tracked to the second, not rounded up to the minute. A 2-minute-10-second call uses 2 minutes 10 seconds.
- Lite, $29 for 60 minutes, then $0.48 a minute. Messages and blind transfers, no calendar sync.
- Pro, $99 for 220 minutes, then $0.45. Adds calendar booking, warm transfers and after-hours rules.
- Plus, $199 for 500 minutes, then $0.40. Adds multiple agents or locations.
- Elite, $349 for 1,000 minutes, then $0.35. Dialzara writes your initial prompt, and you get API access.
Take 200 calls a month at about 3 minutes each, 600 minutes:
- Pro: $99 plus 380 minutes at $0.45 = about $270.
- Plus: $199 plus 100 minutes at $0.40 = about $239.
- Elite: $349, with 400 minutes to spare.
Plus is the cheapest fit, at about $1.20 a call. That’s mid-pack: Upfirst charges $159.95 for 300 calls, and Rosie’s $149 plan covers 1,000 minutes. Where Dialzara wins is at the bottom. A business taking 15 to 20 short calls a month can stay on Lite for $29, if message taking is enough.
One thing to set up on day one: when your included minutes run out, callers go straight to voicemail unless you turn on auto-recharge or buy more minutes (pricing). Minutes you buy don’t expire. For most businesses, auto-recharge is the right setting; a busy week shouldn’t silence your phone line.
Trial, contracts and setup
Every voice plan has a 7-day free trial. There’s no setup fee and no contract; plans are month to month and you can cancel anytime. Annual pricing exists, but you have to ask sales for the terms (FAQs).
Setup is self-serve: the website import gets you a first draft, then you fill in prices, hours, service area and the questions you want asked. Dialzara says most customers go live the same day (pricing). On Elite, Dialzara writes that first prompt for you. If you’d rather not touch it at all, the managed Done for You! service starts at $1,500 a month, which is a big step up.
The phone number is the one fuzzy cost. The pricing page says every plan includes a US local or toll-free number, but the same page’s FAQ prices US local numbers at $3 a month and toll-free at $5. Budget up to $5 a month extra until Dialzara confirms. Porting your existing number in is free (FAQs).

What it books into
Pro and above book, move and cancel appointments in Google Calendar or Outlook. That covers most salons, consultants and small offices. It doesn’t name direct integrations with field-service, legal or practice software; for those, look at industry tools in our best AI receptionists for home services or for law firms.
When the AI can’t handle a call
It transfers the caller to your team (blind on Lite, warm from Pro), and Pro adds escalation rules for after hours. Otherwise it takes a message. If you want a live receptionist team behind the AI, look at Smith.ai or Abby Connect.
Healthcare practices should note that Dialzara makes no public HIPAA claim; it asks them to contact sales for a custom setup.
Privacy
Dialzara says recordings, transcripts and messages are stored encrypted in US data centers, that you set your own retention window, and that it doesn’t share call or message data for advertising or model training (FAQs).
How it compares
vs Upfirst. Billed per call instead of per minute, from $24.95 for 30 calls, with booking and warm transfers on every plan. Better if your calls are long.
vs My AI Front Desk. $99 for 200 minutes with cheaper overage ($0.25) and website chat and texting included.
vs Phonely. Also per minute, from $50 for about 200 minutes, with a visual call-flow editor.
Verdict
Dialzara is a sensible pick for a small business that wants to start cheap, set things up itself and see every price up front. Billing by the second, 10 languages on every plan, no setup fee and a free week are all in its favor. Skip Lite if you need booking or warm transfers, turn on auto-recharge so callers never hit voicemail, and do the minute math: past about 400 minutes a month, flat or per-call services often cost less.
